Adoption · two of the seven

A LAP OF THEIR OWN

Five of our cats run the café for life. Two — Chikoo and Idli — are ready to run someone's living room instead. Both are healthy, sterilised and vaccinated, and both are auditioning humans right now.

Chikoo

8 months
Chaos 9/10 Laps 4/10 Vaccinated

Brown tabby, arrived in a delivery box last monsoon and never quite left. He's made almost entirely of elbows and optimism — the kind of kitten who greets the espresso machine like an old friend and will fetch a bottle cap if you so much as believe in him. Chikoo wants a home with room to sprint and a person who won't mind a 6am parkour session across the headboard.

Idli

2 years
Chaos 2/10 Laps 10/10 Sterilised

White, round and roughly the temperature of a fresh idli — which is, in fact, how she got the name. She purrs at conversational volume and treats every available lap as a seat reserved permanently in her name. Idli would be happiest as the one and only cat, with a warm windowsill and someone who works from home and doesn't mind being used as furniture for the afternoon.

HOW IT WORKS

1

Meet at a session

Book a normal 90-minute session and sit near them. No paperwork, no pressure — just coffee and cat.

2

Spend real time

Come back once or twice. We'd like them to know your voice before they know your sofa.

3

A home chat

A short video call or visit so we can picture where they'll nap. Show us the windowsill.

4

Take them home

Sign the agreement with our shelter partner and leave with a cat, a starter kit, and our number for panicked 2am texts.

Demo note: PURRHAUS is fictional, so this form doesn't send anywhere. On your real site it would email the café — nothing leaves your browser here.

What we ask honest list

  • An indoor home — these two aren't street-smart, and we'd like to keep it that way.
  • Patience for the first fortnight while a cat decides your home is acceptable.
  • A quick video call so we can see the space. No white-glove inspection, promise.
  • Willingness to keep us posted — the odd photo genuinely keeps the whole café going.
  • A small adoption donation that covers vaccination and sterilisation. It's not a sale.

Before you ask

GOOD QUESTIONS

What does it cost?
There's a small adoption donation — around ₹2,000 — that goes straight to vaccination, sterilisation and the starter kit they leave with. It's a contribution to their care, not a price tag. A cat is not a purchase.
Can I visit them first?
Please do — it's the whole point. Book a normal session and ask for Chikoo or Idli by name at the counter. Sitting with them, more than once, is the single best way to know if it's a match. No commitment attached.
What if it doesn't work out?
Then the cat comes back to us. No questions, no judgement, no awkwardness — that's the deal, and it stands for the cat's whole life. We'd always rather have them back than have anyone stuck. You're never on your own with it.
